Configurations

We don’t have any standard sizes as we make all of our windows and aluminium doors at Nuline to measure.

We custom make everything here in our Melbourne factory - our clients can bring any ideas to the table and we will work with you to determine the best options for your space. We’re more than happy to have a chat with you over a coffee and discuss your options and what might work best for your lifestyle and project.

Often clients, architects or builders will send us through sketches or architectural plans of what they are after and we will quote it using our innovative estimating program known as V6.

Colours

We offer customers a huge range of Dulux, Colorbond and Interpon powder coat colours as well as anodised metal. Our Dulux colour chart, which encompasses most Colourbond colours, can be downloaded here. Our standard range is the Duralloy range, and we can also use the Precious, RapidCure, Duratec and other colours on request.

If you would like us to order you a free sample card, simply contact us so we can arrange it for you.

hardware

In all of our aluminium windows and aluminium doors in Melbourne, we only use commercial quality hardware. There are so many different types of hardware components that it is hard to list them all here, but rest assured we only team up with reputable and proven hardware companies like Lockwood (handles and locks), Hafele (handles), Centor (top-rolling hardware), CiiLock (bottom rolling hardware), Whitco (awning winders), Brio/Henderson (rolling hardware), Doric and many other leading companies.

We’ll quote you what we think is best, but if you have something specific in mind don’t hesitate to ask us to see if we can do it.

Glass Types

If you want to work with a particular glass option, our team can likely make that a reality. We use single glazed, double glazed, low E performance and noise performance glass, as well as all kinds of tints, patterns and translucent glasses.

In the majority of commercial and architectural windows that we create, our clients usually opt for either clear single laminated or double glazed toughened safety glass. These types of glass are shown below. Often in new homes and major renovations, energy rating reports will specify the glass type required.

extrusion information

Our most popular framing system, shown below (bottom left) in single glazed form, is our centre glazed frame which measures 101.6mm by 44mm. We create dozens of different architectural and commercial framing suites, including front glazed, offset, extended, thermally broken and glazing channel frames. These all come in single and double glazed forms, and we have included a cross section of many of these frames below (bottom right). If you would like to know more or you need cross sections, sample offcuts or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact us or visit our showroom today.

What we’re good at

We love being involved with whole house lots, major renovations, shopfronts and commercial sized buildings, as well as one-off bifolding and stackable sliding doors. We also love creating huge panes of glass. As we specialise in these projects, we are the ideal team to effectively and efficiently bring your build to life. We can, on request, build one-off windows; however, because we specialise in extensive projects, one-off windows and hinge doors may not be the most cost effective solution.

We work with both the public and trades so don’t hesitate to ask for a quote on your project. Send us your plans, drawings or ideas and we’ll help make it happen, like we did with this job in Red Hill that is on the shortlist of the 2014 architectural awards.

Energy Efficiency

All our products, including our 400 series windows and doors, have been specifically tested to comply and exceed the Australian standards and performance values for efficiency. U-Value and SHGC values are part of achieving this and each window and door system has been specifically tested to determine the energy rating. We use thermally improved aluminium as standard, but can also use thermally broken frames - we believe these are the future in aluminium windows in Melbourne. Your energy rating report will specify the type of glass required in our frame.

Yes. We have dedicated experienced teams of installers who can install architectural and commercial windows and doors for you, should you or your builder or carpenter not wish to install our aluminuim doors and windows in Melbourne themselves. Our windows, especially our fixed windows and aluminium doors in Melbourne are designed to be big... so why not go big? They look absolutely fantastic and more and more people are doing it these days. We create huge pieces of glass all the time without any worries; it’s what we do best.
